AppSumo's Black Friday sale is coming, and lifetime deals are the point: you pay once instead of every month. You don't have to wait for the rush, though. Several strong deals are already live. Here's what I'd look at right now, plus a few lessons from last year's sale that still apply when you shop.
Lessons from AppSumo Black Friday 2025
Last year's sale ran November 17 (8 AM CT) to December 2, 2025 (noon CT), according to AppSumo's own Black Friday 2025 page. It was the first year AppSumo used themed daily drops instead of launching everything at once:
- Five themed drops over successive days (Video & Visual Studio, Automate Everything, Grow Your Audience, Build Without Limits and Create Content Smarter).
- Each drop held its lowest price for about a week, then the price went up.
- Mystery Deals of the Day that were discounted for 24 hours only.
- An extra sitewide discount later in the sale window.
- Extended Access for AppSumo Plus members after the public end date.
Recaps from 99signals and FindFahim list the 2025 lineup. Examples include Depositphotos at $39, Albato at $89, Acumbamail at $89, Trafft at $79 and NEURONwriter at $99 (lifetime, at their drop prices).
What I took away:
- Timing mattered more than coupons. Buying early in a deal's cheapest window usually beat waiting for a late sitewide discount.
- Themes help you skip what you don't need. If you don't make video, you can ignore an entire drop.
- Short windows are real deadlines. If a 24-hour deal fits your stack, decide the same day.

How to buy smart
- Make a list first. Write down the subscriptions you pay for now. A lifetime deal is only a deal if it replaces something or fills a real gap.
- Read the tier limits. Tier 1 is usually enough for a solo user, but check seats, credits and caps.
- Check the refund terms on each deal page. The deals I checked today (TidyCal, SendFox) say you can try them for 60 days from purchase. Use that time to test properly.
- Don't buy for "someday." If you won't set it up within the refund window, skip it.

- PresEngage: from $69 (was $360). Check the deal
Feedspace's AppSumo deal has ended, so I've left it out.
What not to expect
- Don't assume every deal has the same terms. Refund windows, tier caps and stacking can differ, so read each deal page.
- Don't expect a low price to stay forever. AppSumo can change pricing and availability.
- Don't buy tools you won't open. The refund window only helps if you actually test the product.

Final thoughts
Black Friday rewards people who show up with a list. Know what you're replacing, check each deal page, and use the refund period to test. If you just need a booking page or a simple newsletter, TidyCal and SendFox are cheap enough to grab today without waiting.
